These wonderfully light and delicious orange scones will be the hit of your tea party or breakfast buffet. Even if you haven’t made scones before, these are so easy and tasty that you’ll want to make tons of them! Scrumptious Orange Scones were served at my Enchanted Fairy Tea Party along with other yummy treats. There were no leftovers! It’s so easy to double, or better yet, triple this recipe, so it’s a fantastic way to add some yum to your breakfast buffet…or even a family breakfast.
Light and delicious!
Have I mentioned these are light and fluffy? That hint of orange flavor makes them absolute perfection! Before I began to host oodles of tea parties, I had the misconception that scones were dry, tasteless biscuits but these are anything but that! These will practically melt in your mouth!
These are SCRUMPTIOUS!
The secret to light, delicate scones is to gently cut the cold butter into the flour mixture. Use a pastry blender to cut the butter in just until it resembles coarse crumbs and then carefully add any extra cream in as you lightly mix the dough by hand just until a dough forms. Gently knead three or four times on a lightly covered surface again being careful not to over knead. Roll into a disk and cut and place into a scone pan or on parchment paper on a baking sheet. Scones are quick and easy, and if you’re a beginner you’ll wonder why you never made them before!
